Village Ministries

We began a ministry in the village of Bumbobi because of one man's faithfulness.  Geoffrey rodeBelievers from Bumbobi his bicycle over 8 miles from Bumbobi to Mbale to be able to come to church.  That day Geoffrey did  not get saved, but as a result of a follow up visit he accepted the Lord as his Savior.  For the next year and a half he rode his bicycle 16 miles every Sunday to come to church, praying that one day a church would be started in his village.  All this time he never missed a Sunday and was on time, even for Sunday School.  During this time Bro. John became burdened for this man who was so committed.  Bro. John began riding his bicycle those same 16 miles out to Bumbobi to disciple Geoffrey every Wednesday.  Through those time of discipleship others would come with questions for Bro. John.  As he would answer them from the Bible they would see their need of salvation and accept Christ.  Very soon it was not just Geoffrey that John was discipling but about 15 people who had accepted Christ.  They have now built their own building and every Sunday have between 30 and 40 people.

Our ministry in Kachonga began as a result of a young man named Dauson who walked for two hours from Kachonga to our church in Mbale.  After the service, one of the young men in our church was able to lead Dauson to the Lord.  The next week Dauson again walked the two hours and when he reached the church he told us that he had informed his family on what he had done and that his family was waiting for us to come and preach to them also.  We arranged to go out the following week and preached to about 20 of his family members.  After preaching and explaining the Gospel for three hours, Dauson's father, mother, two brothers and a friend all accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.  This is one of our newest ministries and we are still in the process of discipling these new believers.  As in Bumbobi, when we have gone for discipleship and preaching, others have heard and accepted Christ.  They are praying that one day they too will have a church in their village that will preach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
**If you watch the video on our home page Dauson's father is the one you see being baptized in the river and his mother is the second one (in the white) waiting to be baptized.
